first edition unpaginated ills.[30 b/w by author] G+ (beige ills.paper boards w.tan cloth spine,rubbed and soiled/foxed,mod.wear and chipping to extrems.,sl.crease to foot of top board,publisher's label tipped-in to ffep stating that the book was printed in New York,separation to many sections with spine loose and shaky,all plates present although some are detached,some sl.soiling to plates,2 plates have some surface damage due to being stuck together but the images themselves are unaffected) scarce first edition - the illustrator of Twain's Huckleberry Finn and the Uncle Remus books - scans available on request
