Name the book from the first line
For anyone who checked out our Facebook page, the opening line was from Robin Hyde's The Godwits Fly. With the missing words put in, the opening line reads "Until the year after the war, life for the Hannays always meant other people's houses, and they wore out a long line of cats, invariably and irrespective of sex, named Tam."
Test yourself with the next three famous opening lines (answers below but don't peek)
"It was a bright cold day in April and the clocks were striking thirteen."
"I was born in the city of Bombay... once upon a time."
"Call me Ishmael."
(George Orwell 1984 / Salman Rushdie Midnight's CHildren / Herman Melville Moby Dick)
